About me

Yanlei Chen (2002) holds a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, and is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design at Pratt Institute. His practice spans landscape, interior design, installations, furniture, and architecture, focusing on uncovering the connections between users' genuine needs.

He has a particular interest in European, Chinese, and Japanese history from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, with an emphasis on religion, cinema, and postmodern philosophy — including the films of Tarkovsky, the Coen Brothers, and Shunji Iwai, as well as Barry Stroud and Quine, and the Hume–Kant tradition they can be traced back to.

He has work and study experience in Shanghai, Ningbo, and Changsha (China), Hong Kong SAR, Osaka (Japan), and New York City (United States).
